theLAKER | 25 Amber Linson ’19 (Creative Writing) was highlighted for her work compiling the bicentennial book “Voices of Wayne County” with the help of volunteers at an October event put on by the Macedon Historical Society and Gananda Rotary’s Literacy Program. Lewis Pettit ’19 (Liberal Arts and Sciences) became a full-time patrol officer for Wellsville police and works part-time for the Cuba Police Department. Rochelle Phillips ’19 (Human Services) went on to receive bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work at SUNY Brockport. She works with a diverse group of clients from children to older adults in a counseling organization as a licensed master social worker. the 20s Kate Livingston ’20 (Liberal Arts and Sciences) went on to graduate from the University of Rochester with a bachelor’s degree in microbiology and is now working as a research fellow for the Centers for Disease Control at the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education. Brandy Schroeder ’20 (Fish and Wildlife Technology) graduated from Oregon State University Ecampus with a bachelor's degree in fisheries, wildlife, and conservation sciences last fall. Brandy is working at the Niagara Interpretive Region as a park and recreation aide out of Evangola State Park, operating a seasonal nature center and leading public programs. Brandy leads programming at Woodlawn Beach State Park and Knox Farm State Park. Nigel Butler ’21 (Communications) and Stewart Butler ’19 (New Media) have produced a sitcom called “Problems Higher Up” about a church staff and the daily hassles of working in ministry. It also features alumni Gunnar Dalton ’22 and Isaac Scott ’20; former student Marie Butler, who wrote the musical theme; and current student Matthew Easley. It is available on Amazon Prime and Tubi. The show is also running on Finger Lakes TV with broadcasts Sundays and Saturdays at noon and Mondays and Fridays at 7 p.m. Finger Lakes TV is available on Spectrum cable channel 1304, Roku and the 24/7 web stream at fingerlakestv.org/live. Stephanie Gallo ’23 (Nursing), who works at M. M. Ewing Continuing Care Center, was named the 2023 Long-term Care Nurse of the Year during the Rochester Business Journal Health Care Heroes award ceremony in February. Parker Remington ’23 (Music) played with his band, Inner Eye, at a business after hours event at the Geneva Campus Center. Inner Eye also consists of former student Daniel Sanphy and current student Strider O’Neil. Ciji Stewart ’23 (Teaching Assistant) currently serves as a teaching assistant for children with autism. She was recently accepted to Columbia University. Lindsey VanKeuren ’23 (Nursing) joined Thompson Hospital’s RN Residency Program after graduating. She received the Thompson DAISY Award following a nomination by a cancer patient who praised her compassion and care. In Memoriam Susan Clary Treadwell ’74, a 2001 Distinguished Alumni Award honoree, passed away on July 23, 2023. An Elmira native, Susan earned her associate degree in nursing at FLCC then completed her bachelor’s in nursing at Alfred University. Susan worked as a nurse at Geneva General Hospital, taught at the Marion S. Whelan School of Practical Nursing, and eventually became the director at Happiness House. Susan was director of quality assurance and health services at Finger Lakes United Cerebral Palsy when she was honored in 2001 for her service to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Susan also served as a guest lecturer at FLCC and was a member of the FLCC Nursing Advisory Committee. Also greatly missed Helen L. Gebo on February 25, 2024 Bryan D.
