24 | theLAKER Kiki Wilson ’06 (Theatre Arts) is an online communications adjunct professor at Fortis College. She conducts research and provides training to campuses, conferences, companies, and town hall meetings about “Conscious Communication within the LGBTQ+ Community.” Kiki’s goal is to enhance communication skills, emotional intelligence, and critical thinking within the LGBTQ+ community and allies. Kiki spoke at the FLCC Phi Theta Kappa ceremony and the SUNY Brockport Lavender ceremony. Blaque Out magazine named her the Best Activist of the Year in 2023. the 10s Je rey Brown ’11 (Fisheries Technology) received a promotion from laboratory animal technician to research support technician at the National Gnotobiotic Rodent Resource Center at North Carolina University at Chapel Hill. Jeffrey also adopted a dog named Archie. Steven LaPlant ’11 (Engineering Science) graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering. Steven is working as an engineer for NASA on ground communications at Kennedy Space Center. He lives with his wife, Alanna, and three children, Orion, Brandtley, and Jackson. Giovanni DiDuro is the vice president of National Income Life Insurance in Henrietta. He is married to Danielle DiDuro, and they have a baby girl, Seraphina. Jade Myers ’12 (Liberal Arts and Sciences, Chemical Dependency Counseling) is a research development specialist at Rochester Institute of Technology. After the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, Jade was inspired to make 3D-printed prosthetics for refugees who could not afford them. Jade partnered with “Called to Care Canandaigua,” raising money to reunite with Danie, a Haitian refugee Jade met, who lost her arm in the earthquake. Andrew Dupuis ’14 (Liberal Arts and Humanities) received a bachelor’s degree with honors in child and family studies at Weber State University and a master’s with honors at Pepperdine University. He is currently obtaining a doctorate in marriage and family therapy, specializing in child and adolescence at National University. Andrew has also worked as a child protective services investigator, crisis interventionist, and clinical therapist helping individuals, children, couples, and families. Julie (Mawdesley) Schmeer ’14 (Nursing) works at F. F. Thompson Hospital and received the 2023 Hospital Nurse of the Year award during the Rochester Business Journal Health Care Heroes ceremony in February. Benjamin Koeberle ’15 (Theatre Arts), ’23 (Accounting) was a part of the cast in the FLCC production of “Pride and Prejudice” in November. Ben Knowlton ’18 (Environmental Studies) was accepted into the entomology master’s program at the University of Kentucky. Ben plans to study scale pests on urban trees and host the “There Will Be Bugs” podcast. Bridget Corsaro ’19 (Liberal Arts and Sciences) is a recent graduate of Wagner College with a bachelor’s degree in microbiology and psychology. In 2023, Bridget took on the role of human subject research coordinator in the University of Rochester Medical Center Brain Mapping Program. She applied to Ph.D. programs in biomedical science for the fall 2024 admissions cycle and had received her first interview invitation by February.
