28 | theLAKER the 70s Kathleen (Montondo) Nolan ’73 (Nursing) is enjoying her retirement after working as a registered nurse. During her career, she worked in hospitals in New York, Virginia, and New Jersey. Eleanor Parker ’74 (Nursing) is a recipient of this year’s Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes Sharing the Light Award. She worked as a nurse at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas and Soldiers and Sailors Hospital in Penn Yan. Eleanor was part of the group that founded the Windmill Farm and Craft Market in Penn Yan. She also is a past president and board member of the local chapter of the American Cancer Society and has been involved with a number of community organizations, including the Benton Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Yates County Fire Association Auxiliary. Kathleen Fuchs ’79 (Liberal Arts) is an adjunct humanities instructor at FLCC and received the 2023 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Adjunct Teaching. Throughout the years, she has also served on the Geneva Martin Luther King Jr. Committee, and she received the 2008 Geneva Martin Luther King Educator Award. the 80s Wendy (Abrams) Cowan ’80 (Physical Education) retired from St. Mary’s School in Canandaigua after spending 42 years teaching health and physical education. In retirement, Cowan plans to continue working part-time at Casa de Pasta in Canandaigua. Keith Partington ’81 (Criminal Justice) released his first novel, “Fraternal Resolve,” which tells the story of a man avenging the death of his twin sister, on Amazon.
