A resource for student veterans During the 2023-24 academic year, the FLCC Foundation distributed $312,000 from about 100 scholarships funds and several emergency funds to help students cover school and living expenses, including urgent needs for bills such as car repair and housing. Among these resources is the Student Veterans Emergency Relief Fund, started by Terrance “Dom” Dominguez-Hover ’24 and Zachary Shirley ’23, past presidents of the Student Veterans Organization. The fund helps student veterans cover sudden bills that can interfere with an education. Alaiza Dominguez-Hover, Dom’s wife and a current student, organized a fundraiser at Duvall Farms in East Bloomfield in June to replenish the fund. ABOUT THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES A 10-member board of trustees, including a voting student representative, governs the College according to established bylaws. Five members are appointed by the Ontario County Board of Supervisors for seven-year terms, four by the governor for seven-year terms. Students vote annually for their representative. ABOUT THE FLCC FOUNDATION The College works hand-in-hand with the nonprofit FLCC Foundation, founded in 1969, to foster partnerships that build on the College mission.
