Currently, he is a volunteer firefighter. Jim Diermeier ’77 (Natural Resources Conservation) is the horticulturalist at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, NY. Winged Foot hosted the 2020 U.S. Open Golf Championship on Sept. 17. Don Doering ’78 (Natural Resource Conservation) became city administrator of Magnolia, Texas in January 2020. the 80s Darren Hercyk ’81 (Mechanical Design and Drafting) completed a doctor of ministry (D.Min.) degree and is adjunct faculty at Liberty University School of Divinity. Kelli Furnare ’82 (Business Administration) was named the new director of diagnostic imaging for UR Medicine Thompson Health in March. A radiologic technologist, she has been the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) supervisor at Thompson Hospital since 2007 and first joined Thompson 25 years ago, as a nuclear medicine technologist. In 2005, she was named the health system’s Associate of the Year. Jeanette (Williams) Housecamp ’82 (Graphic Arts) is currently the pastoral associate for St. Benedict Parish in Canandaigua, serving St. Mary’s Church and St. Bridget’s in Bloomfield. This is her 20th year in ministry. Jeffery Kehrer ’83 (Criminal Justice) retired from the U.S. Secret Service/Uniformed Division at the rank of sergeant on Jan. 1 after 30 years and 11 months of service to five presidents and countless others. Richard Plympton ’84, ’85 (Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering Science) was appointed director of the Canandaigua National Corp. Board of Directors. He serves as CEO at Optimax Systems Inc., a precision optics manufacturer in Ontario. His leadership and vision over the past 25 years guided Optimax from a small startup to America’s largest precision optics manufacturer. Gloria (Moore) Dancause ’86 (Graphic Arts) is a retired K-12 teacher and college level instructor. Currently, she volunteers as an actor/extra for RIT film students working on student projects and has an IMBd page. Lisa (Mayo) Whitney ’89 (Registered Nursing) obtained a B.S.N. from Liberty University and is an appeals nurse for United Healthcare. the 90s Eric Schinsing ’90 (Science), a hydrogeologist, is HSE Lead at Repsol Oil & Gas USA. He received bachelor of science and master of science degrees from Florida Atlantic University. David Catholdi ’94 was promoted to chief of police for the Brighton Police Department where he has served since 1999. He is also a graduate of the 249th Session of the FBI National Academy and holds a master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. CONGRATS TO THE NEW CHIEF Mathew Nielsen ’96 (Criminal Justice) was named chief of the Canandaigua Police Department in August. He succeeded the now retired Stephen Hedworth, who served the city of Canandaigua for over 20 years as a police officer, sergeant and police chief. Mathew joined the department in December 2016 and has been a sergeant since last November. He previously served with the Fairport Police Department, where he rose to the rank of lieutenant and served as acting chief. Nielsen and his wife, Kristie, have three daughters. “Words cannot describe the fulfillment my career path has taken since coming home to work in Canandaigua,” Nielsen said. “It is quite an experience to be completely connected, both personally and professionally, to your jurisdictional area of employment and its citizens.” class notes
