16 | the LAKER annual report Alejandro Mendoza Alejandro is the director of human resources at Optimax Systems Inc. Before joining Optimax, he served in the Air Force. His military career included assignments with Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training, Missile Warning, Space Surveillance, and Aircrew Life Support systems and training. In addition to his current role at Optimax, Alejandro is a board member of the National Fund for Workforce Solutions. He also works with the local Veterans Outreach Center’s Veterans Employment Strategy Team (VEST), YMCA’s Human Resources Committee, the Rochester Area Senior Human Resources Executive Forum, and the Finger Lakes Advanced Manufacturers’ Enterprise (FAME). Coleen Emblidge Coleen is the controller for Ryco Management, a property leasing and management company in Pittsford. She moved to Canandaigua from Pittsford in 2008 with her husband, Doug Emblidge, an anchor at 13WHAM in Rochester. In addition to her role at Ryco Management, Coleen is actively involved with Daystar, a pediatric respite care center for children with special needs; Pluta Cancer Center, part of Wilmot Cancer Institute; and the F.F. Thompson Foundation Board. Coleen plans to retire at the end of 2020 to spend more time with her three grandchildren. Jason Redman Jason is a certified public accountant (CPA) and a principal at Mengel, Metzger, Barr & Company, LLP in Rochester. Jason received undergraduate degrees from Grand Valley State University as well as Rochester Institute of Technology. At Mengel, Metzger, Barr & Company, Jason is an active member of various committees including training, retention and diversity and inclusion. Jason sits on the executive committee as the current treasurer of the FLCC Foundation Board. Linda Hawks Linda Hawks is the retired CEO of F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, where she worked for over 26 years. Highlights during her tenure include the opening of the Urgent Care Center, the launch of five family practices, and the expansion of M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center services. New facilities included the Sands Cancer Center, the Ferris Hills and Clark Meadows senior living community, the Golisano Center for Emergency and Diagnostic Medicine, and the Constellation Center for Health and Healing. Thompson also introduced programs such as spiritual care and integrated complementary medicine and affiliated with the University of Rochester Medical Center. In addition, Linda serves as vice chair of the United Way Board of Ontario County. Michael Rusinko Michael is assistant vice president of commercial lending at Lyons National Bank, working in the Canandaigua branch. Mike serves the community in board leadership positions at Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion State Historic Park in Canandaigua, the Finger Lakes Workforce Investment Board, and Geneva Rotary Club. He also volunteers with several area events as a master of ceremonies or an auctioneer. Ryan Staychock ’96 Ryan is a conservation instructor at the Finger Lakes Technical Career Center and the head coach of the FLCC Logging Sports team. Ryan graduated from FLCC in 1996 with dual degrees in natural resource con- servation and natural resource conservation law enforcement. While attending FLCC, he was a member of the woodsmen team. After graduating from FLCC, Ryan attended Colorado State University for his undergraduate and graduate studies, where he earned his bachelor’s in natural resources management and master’s in forest sciences. Ryan is also the vice chair of the Canandaigua Town Planning Board. Six new members join FLCC Foundation Board
