partingshot Where it all started Sean Britton-Milligan ’16, right, directed the fall musical “Tick, Tick ... Boom!” the autobiographical story of Jonathan Larson (1960-1996), whose rock musical “Rent” won a Pulitzer Prize for Drama and a Tony Award for Best Musical. He is shown here directing Jimmy Stahl, who played the lead, Jon, and Elexana Cabrera, cast as his girlfriend, Susan. “I knew that I wanted to pursue music and theater and ultimately came to FLCC as a music major, but I always knew something was missing,” Sean said. “After my first year, I switched to the theatre program and found that my true passion was musical theater, a combination of both. “I’ve always wanted to come back and direct a production here because the program meant so much to my journey into the theatrical world I am so immersed in now. I am forever grateful for the experiences that I had at FLCC.” After FLCC, Sean earned a bachelor’s degree in theater arts with a focus in theatrical direction and management from SUNY Fredonia in 2019. In cooperation with friends, he launched The Company Theatre as a nonprofit in Rochester in 2022. Photo by Rikki Van Camp
