parting shot Theatre encore While at FLCC, Bayana Burnell ’18 performed in “Prodigal Son” and directed in “The Odd Couple.” But it’s not unusual for alumni to come back when casting comes up short for an FLCC production, so audiences saw her again in “Doubt, A Parable” in fall 2021. Professor Beth Johnson reached out to Bayana to fill the part of Mrs. Muller, the mother of a Catholic school student. Bayana is shown here, at left, speaking to Julia Diamond of Interlaken, who played Sister Aloysius, a nun wrestling with suspicions that a priest may have abused children. “I told her I would love to and that I was excited to come visit and see everyone again,” Bayana said. “She was a huge help to us and drove in from Williamson to be a part of the show,” Beth added. Since FLCC, Bayana has transferred to SUNY Oswego and is finishing up her bachelor’s degree online. She was also cast in “Too Much Light Makes a Baby Go Blind” at Blackfriars Theatre in Rochester, which ran late January through mid-February.
