the LAKER | 19 the 80s Laurie (Williams) O’Mara ’87 (Physical Education Studies) was appointed to the Reliant Credit Union Board of Directors in July 2021. Amy Sheffield ’88 (Criminal Justice) earned a bachelor’s degree in 2006 from SUNY Brockport. Currently she works as a resident counselor at Eagle Star Housing, a homeless shelter for veterans and at DePaul as a resident service coordinator. the 90s Donna Redick ’90 (Business Administration) was promoted to area contracting manager for central and northern Florida at Trane Technologies in June 2021. Dana Hand ’94 (Criminal Justice) was a corrections officer for 20 years at the Allegany County Sheriff ’s Office. As a union steward for the Allegany County Deputy Sheriff ’s Association, he organized the Dan Barkley Showcase, a fundraiser for Allegany County youth scholarships. Currently, Dana is the president elect of the Belmont Rotary, chair of the Village of Belmont Planning/Zoning Board, and commissioner of the newly formed Belmont Fire District. He is also a proud father to three grown children, Katelyn, Brooke and Jacob, and two grandchildren, Sadie and Ellie. the 00s Kimberlie Noyes ’00 (Registered Nursing) completed her doctorate of nursing practice (DNP) from St. John Fisher College. She works as an assistant professor at FLCC, at a primary care practice at Jordan Health in Canandaigua, and at UR Thompson UrgentCare. Gina (DeGroff/Cappi) Pierce ’02 (Fine Arts) was promoted to client relations specialist at Hilton Grand Vacations in June 2021. Melissa (Bumpus) Buchannon ’03 (Therapeutic Massage) owns Studio B, which was voted Best Fitness Center of the Finger Lakes in 2021. She moved her growing business from Route 332 to 523 South Main Street in November 2021. Studio B offers group fitness classes, an open gym, personal training, massage therapy and body products. Chad Posick ’03 (Environmental Studies) was recently appointed co-director of the National Youth Advocacy and Resilience Research Center at Georgia Southern University where he is an associate professor of criminal justice and criminology. Chad also recently published a book with Temple University Press. Mindy (Green) Covington ’04 (Therapeutic Massage) gave birth on Oct. 12, 2021 to Paige Margaret Covington. She weighed 6 pounds 1 ounce and was 19.5 inches long. Nickolas Wooden ’09 (Science) is currently a substitute teacher at Portland Public Schools. Andrew Biernat ’09 (Business Administration) accepted the position of member relations manager at the Canandaigua Chamber of Commerce in September 2021.
