Graduates of the inaugural class are Gina Balasi of Victor, Keyla Blaze of Seneca Falls, Sheila L. Brundage of Atlanta, Alexander Colcord of Canandaigua, Reagan Ferguson of Springwater, Kali Ham of Canandaigua, Chloe Jackson of Rochester, Syretta Linfoot of Prattsburgh, Prisileidy Poueriet of Fairport, Sadio Sirat of Syracuse, and Katlin urston of Auburn. e ceremony included remarks by Shayna Turner-Johnson, chair of the nursing department; President Robert Nye; and Jennifer Dunn, LPN program coordinator. FLCC has had a registered nursing (RN) program since 1968. e opening of the Sands Family Center for Allied Health Care on the main campus in fall 2022 provided the expanded capacity necessary to launch the LPN program. e F.F. ompson Health Foundation, Inc. Nursing Professorship was also instrumental by providing faculty support. e 36-credit program can be completed in one year. It is designed so that graduates who pass their LPN licensure exam have the option to transition to the second semester of the registered nursing program. is allows graduates to begin working as LPNs while working toward RN licensure.
