theLAKER | 29 Corey Grace ’15 (Criminal Justice) has been named the Penn Yan Police Department’s 2021 Officer of the Year. Jessica (Carder) VanDeMar ’16 (Tourism Studies) joined the Finger Lakes Visitors Connection tourism promotion organization as a destination concierge. Caitlin Schenck ’16 (Criminal Justice) is a deputy sheriff with the Yates County Sheriff Department. Kristen Moore ’17 (Paralegal) accepted the position of consulting analyst at Kobre & Kim in January 2022. Erin Freeman ’17 (Social Science) is now a caseworker for the Monroe County Child Protective Services. Taylor Ward ’19 (New Media) earned a promotion to assistant vice president for design and digital at First American Equipment Finance in Victor in February 2022. Stephen Chamot ’19 (Business Administration) accepted the position of staff tax accountant at Mengel, Metzger, Barr & Co. LLP. Jasmine Morrow ’19 (Business Administration) has started a master’s in business administration program with a human resources specialization and is currently working at CBORD Group Inc. Backing up the home team Former baseball players got together with Bob Lowden, retired baseball coach and athletic director emeritus, on May 1 to cheer on the men’s team in a double header against Tompkins Cortland Community College. The Lakers bested TC3 in both games, 11 to 1, then 10 to 3. The cheering section included, from left, Hector Padgham ’89, Jim McLaughlin ’90, Scott Barnett, Jim Conti, Steve Massucci ’90, Bob Lowden, Adam Simon, Pete Koronas ’05, Brian Crawford ’96, Jeremy Burch ’95, Jeff Marshall ’94, Paul Welker ’97, Pat Greer ’00 and Jeff Murphy ’94. Baseball alumni cheered on the current Lakers, including pitcher Peyton Ahlstrom of Dunkirk and catcher Nolan Storch ’22 of Elmira.
