parting shot Back on course Sam Aruck of Farmington played for the Thompson Health team at the FLCC Foundation Golf Tournament in June at Ravenwood Golf Club in Victor. A total of 104 golfers took part, raising nearly $30,000 for student scholarships. The Foundation also held a golf ball drop in July, raising an additional $8,000. The organization first held a golf ball drop in 2020 as a replacement for the tournament, which had been canceled that year due to the pandemic. The event proved to be so popular that the Foundation opted to hold it again. Participants bought numbered golf balls, which were then dropped from a Hopewell fire truck extension ladder near a pin. The three balls closest to the pin and the one farthest away resulted in prizes.
