opening shot Mildred A. Phillips-Espana and her son, Juan V. Espana II, of Penn Yan both graduated in 2020 but were unable to participate in commencement, which was postponed for a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. All 2020 graduates were invited to take part in the 2021 commencement, which was divided into nine sessions over two days to satisfy health and safety requirements. Mildred earned an A.A.S. in business administration. It was her second FLCC degree; she graduated in 2005 with an associate in liberal arts.
